Application to perform calculations for transportation problems (operations research), using: least cost method, vogel, northwest corner, and stepping stone.
It's a particular case of linear programming related to the area of operations research. Although it is called "transportation problems", it can be applied in many other cases like water, electricity and network distribution, also, foreseeing traffic flow, etc.
It involves the distribution from multiple sources, to multiple destination points, considering:
1 - The cost of distribution between each origin and destination;
2 - The productions from the sources and;
3 - The capacities of the destinations.
We aim to minimize the total cost of transport.
This application, therefore, provides the means to monitor, test and compare methods which generate an initial feasible solution (least cost, vogel and northwest corner) and a method for optimizing the solution (stepping stone).
